Hello, and welcome!

I started this blog, I suppose, because I wanted to write little and often about things I find interesting. Here you will find book reviews, my ‘Short Pieces on Short Pieces’ series, and some reflections on the writing I have completed. I hope you will find these things interesting, too.

I am at the outset of a novel writing career, having completed a Masters in Creative Writing in 2021. ‘Gunport’ is my first novel. If you read science fiction, or enjoy crime and thriller novels set in uniquely dangerous places, my books will be for you. I am working now on a second novel, which I hope to be able to bring to fruition in early 2025.

A new strand to my adventures begins in 2024 when I will also start a doctorate in English Literature, studying in Liverpool.

I live in the North West of England with my wife and son, and currently work in education.
